Some Ideas

Open your eyes

Sometimes you have to make an active decision to be open to new ideas and thinking.  Recently I read this post and was inspired by the interesting things that Marcus noticed walking home.  On my next walk to work - a journey I've done a hundred times - it was amazing the fresh things that I saw and noticed.  Just snapping these things with a digital camera and adding some thoughts gave me a whole new perspective on my walk to work.

Wander

Following logic will get you to the logical solution - which is where everyone else is going to be as they've followed the same path.  Sometimes it's better to wander following the things that seem interesting rather than logical.  This can take you to new places that people may not have considered before.

In case of emergency...

The worse time to start looking for an idea is when you need one.  Hopefully this can serve as an emergency back up and a source of inspiration when stuck with a problem.

It's also a way for me to build on a project I developed.  These are a pack of cards that provide ideas for solving problems.  They originated by asking people a simple question "What did you do to solve the last problem you faced?"  People's ideas and strategies where then distilled into a simple thought or instruction and brought to life with an illustration.
